Privacy Policy

Last updated November 3, 2026

The short version

  • We only collect your email address, and only if you subscribe.
  • We use it to send you Neon Yuzu. We never sell it or give it to sponsors.
  • This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ads.
  • You can unsubscribe from any email, or ask us to delete your data, at any time.

Who we are

Neon Yuzu is a free newsletter about AI and Asia tech, run independently from Singapore. We are responsible for the personal data described here. Reach us at hello@neonyuzu.com about anything in this policy.

The newsletter

When you subscribe, your email address goes to beehiiv, the service that stores our subscriber list and sends each issue. Like most email services, beehiiv records whether an email was opened and which links in it were clicked, along with the rough location and device that suggests. We look at these figures to see which stories readers find useful and to keep the list healthy, for example by removing addresses that never open an email.

We use your address only to send Neon Yuzu and the occasional note about it. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it with sponsors or advertisers. If Neon Yuzu carries sponsored stories, sponsors see only totals such as how many people clicked, never who you are.

Every email has an unsubscribe link. Once you use it, we stop emailing you.

This website

The site sets no cookies and has no analytics, tracking pixels or ads. Search runs in your browser.

Some outside services still see your visit, as they would for most websites:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site. It processes your IP address and browser details to serve pages and block attacks, and keeps short-lived logs.
  • Fontshare serves the site's font, so your browser asks it for the font files.
  • News publishers: story pictures load from the publisher's own website, so that publisher sees a request from your browser.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you're subscribed. After you unsubscribe, beehiiv keeps a record that you unsubscribed so you aren't emailed again by mistake. If you'd like that removed too, email us and we'll delete your address within 30 days.

Where it's stored

beehiiv and Cloudflare store data in the United States and other countries, so your data may be handled outside the country you live in. Both protect it under their own contracts and data protection terms.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing hello@neonyuzu.com. We'll reply within 30 days. We handle data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act.

If you live in the EU or the UK, the GDPR also applies. We rely on your consent to send the newsletter (you can withdraw it by unsubscribing) and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. You may also object to how we use your data or complain to your local data protection authority.

If you live in California: we don't sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined in California law.

Children

Neon Yuzu isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has subscribed, tell us and we'll remove them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email address, we'll tell subscribers by email first.
